2nd granddaughter's quilt

I had seen a picture of quilt blocks with these flowers. I decided to make that quilt for the birth of my second granddaughter. Well, a variation of it. The picture I saw had several small blocks, but I chose to make three big flowers down the center.

I pulled out all of my pink and purple fabric. I needed a little green for the stem and leaves. And decided I wanted a bit of white for the background of the flowers.

As you look at the quilt, you will see that I ran out of large pieces of scrap fabric. I had to pieces together smaller scraps to make the corner sections.

I quilted each block and then sewed the blocks together.

I felt a bit whimsical sewing the flower blocks then quilting flower motifs.

I know... far away, the flowers look like a single square with an applique in the center. That is not the case. I added a closeup to show a section of one of the petals.

I liked this flower pattern. If I was to make it again, I would make the corner of the petal a bit more noticeable.
