ABC book
When starting this journey with this website, I saw an opportunity to create a book. But not just any book. My granddaughters were learning their ABCs. What a time to create a book for them.
I found a site that lets you create board books. Once I was set up on that site, I learned how to create the pages of the book. You ought to see my notes. There were less pages than there are letters. I wrote down the alphabet and drew lines between them to designate which letters would be on which page. Changing those lines several times. Didn't want too many letters on a page or I wouldn't be able to fit the pictures. I also had to keep remembering to not count the front cover or back cover in the number of pages.
The next step was to find a "sewing accessory" for each letter. Some letters were easy and chose from several options. Other letters, not so easy. I even asked my husband what he thinks certain letters could be.
I did use the internet to find the pictures. Choosing the right picture took time. I wanted pictures that were common so little kids could find them in their own home. My thought was they could then link the picture in the book to something real they could hold in their hands. Some pictures would not be common to everyone. An example of that would be the old fashion sewing machine for the S.
After finding the right pictures, I wanted to make it mine. I manipulated each picture by adding to or taking away something in each picture. The pictures in the book are, now, not the exact same as you would find on the internet. Some manipulations are little. An example would be the edging on the W picture. Some of the manipulations were a little trickier. An example of that would be when I added extra buttons to the picture. Can you find them? They were as close as I could get to have them look like they are laying at the same angle as the others.
I had fun creating this book. I hope you and your little ones enjoy it too.
